While living in Costa Rica, Josh, Karen, Liam and James hosted a visiting team of students and faculty from the Ecosystem Management program. The event lead Josh to a career at Fleming College. The School of Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences offers a two year Ecosystem Management Technician and a third year Ecosystem Management Technologist diploma. Josh is the coordinator of the program.

Environmental and ecological field work frequently requires determining the presence of species at risk and monitoring of their populations.
